Steele Stadium
With a proud tradition of high school football at Mishawaka, we take a moment to remember our history with the program and the structural foundation of the program. What is now known as Steele Field, was originally proposed 1938 and dedicated in 1939 as Tupper Field. Later, on September 29th, 1980 the field was formally dedicated to honor the legendary Mishawaka football coach Frank M. Steele. Coach Steele posted a 47-23-9 record from 1923 to 1932. Two of the teams he coached, the 1925 and 1926 teams were both undefeated State Champions. This page in the upcoming months will have newspaper clippings, and images from Steele Stadium. We would like to also thank Coach Dean McCool for finding these articles on our history.
